If the death has just happened, do this first

At home with hospice? Call hospice first. A nurse must pronounce the death before anyone can be moved.
At home unexpectedly? Call 911 first. The medical examiner has to release your loved one before we can help.
In a hospital or care facility? Tell the nurse you have chosen us. They will hold your loved one until we arrive.
